Private equity firm Veritas Capital is in talks to acquire enterprise tech provider NCR Corporation, The Wall Street Journal reports.
NCR launched a strategic review process in February that attracted the attention of private equity suitors.
Citing sources familiar with the matter, The Wall Street Journal says a deal is far from certain and could be weeks in the making.
NCR provides enterprise software, hardware and services for banks, retailers, restaurants, small businesses and telecoms firms.
In March, the company acquired intellectual property pertaining to open banking from UK fintech Spoke Technologies.
The deal was the latest in a long line of acquisitions and partnerships NCR has cultivated over the previous 18 months as it sought to diversify its business.
The Atlanta-based company bought up crypto ATM firm LibertyX in August 2021 and digital onboarding start-up Terafina in February 2021.
