Monday – Aug. 1

  • All Day – Data watch for Macau GGR data, China monthly deliveries, Class 8 truck orders, firearm background check data.
  • All Day – DOJ trial to block Change Healthcare’s (NASDAQ:CHNG) planned sale to UnitedHealth (UNH) scheduled to start.
  • All Day- Day 2 of Alzheimer’s Association International Conference in San Diego. The conference takes place from Sunday through Thursday.
  • Premarket – Stocks due to report earnings with double-digit share price moves implied by options trading include Avis Budget (CAR), Cerevel Therapeutics (CERE) and Lindblad Expeditions (LIND).
  • Postmarket – Activision (ATVI), which is being acquired for $69 billion by Microsoft (MSFT) is set to report Q2 results. Pinterest (NYSE:PINS), where activist investor Elliott Management has reportedly taken a stake, will report 2Q results.

Tuesday – Aug. 2

  • All Day – The New York Fed will release its Q2 Household Debt and Credit report.
  • Premarket – Stocks due to report earnings with double-digit share price moves implied by options trading include Diebold Nixdorf (DBD), Oak Street Health (OSH) and TrueCar (TRUE).
  • Premarket – Tower Semiconductor (TSEM) reports Q2 results. Tower agreed to be sold to Intel (INTC) for $53/share in February.
  • Postmarket – Stocks due to report earnings with double-digit share price moves implied by options trading include Cardlytics (CDLX), TuSimple (TSP) and Freshworks (FRSH). PayPal (NASDAQ:PYPL), where activist Elliott has reportedly taken a stake, will report Q2 results.

Wednesday – Aug. 3

  • All Day – Arcellx (ACLX) IPO lockup.
  • All Day – OPEC+ ministers, including from Saudi Arabia and Russia, will hold a video conference to make a decision on production policy.
  • Premarket – Stocks due to report earnings with double-digit share price moves implied by options trading include Tupperware (TUP), Intercept Pharma (ICPT) and Vimeo (VMEO).
  • 7 a.m. – July MBA Mortgage Applications.
  • Postmarket – Stocks due to report earnings with double-digit share price moves implied by options trading include Bandwidth (BAND), Vapotherm (VAPO) and Skillz (SKLZ).

Thursday – Aug. 4

  • Premarket – Stocks due to report earnings with double-digit share price moves implied by options trading include Tabula Rasa HealthCare (TRHC), Aurinia Pharma (AUPH) and Wayfair (W).
  • Premarket – Change Healthcare (CHNG) is scheduled to report Q2 earnings with a conference call at 8 a.m. The report comes in the middle of the DOJ trial to block Change’s planned sale to UnitedHealth (UNH).
  • Premarket – Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is scheduled to report Q2 results. ICE agreed to buy Black Knight (BKI) for $13 billion in early May.
  • Postmarket – Stocks due to report earnings with double-digit share price moves implied by options trading include Redfin (RDFN), Beyond Meat (BYND) and Carvana (CVNA).
  • 5:30 p.m. – Tesla (TSLA) shareholder meeting.

Friday – Aug .5

  • All Day – Russian President Vladimir Putin scheduled to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Sochi, Russia.
  • Premarket – Stocks due to report earnings with double-digit share price moves implied by options trading include AMC Networks (AMCX), Gogo (GOGO) and DraftKings (DKNG).
  • 8:30 a.m. – The U.S. jobs report for July is expected to show 250K jobs were added to the economy during the month and the unemployment rate held steady at 3.6%.
  • 3 p.m. – The Federal Reserve releases June consumer credit numbers.
